About Ottawa
Ottawa, the capital of Canada, has a population of about 1 million people. It is in the central part of Canada at the junction of the Ottawa, Rideau and Gatineau Rivers. A large international airport serves the city with numerous domestic and international flights daily. Overseas access is quite easy, either by a direct flight from London, or with connections through Toronto, Montreal, Newark, New York, Chicago, Detroit or Washington. The Conference location is very close to several sites of interest including the Canadian Parliament Buildings, Rideau Shopping Centre, National Arts Centre, National Art Gallery, the Rideau Canal, Sparks Street Mall, the Byward market as well as several museums. Public Transit
There is a shuttle bus every half-hour from the airport that stops at several downtown hotels. The cost for the bus is approximately $24.00 CAD (return fare). Taxis are also available from the airport to downtown at a cost of approximately $25.00 CAD.
